Test World Record from Sri Lanka’s Kamindu Mendis

Sri Lankan cricketer Kamindu Mendis has etched his name in the history books by becoming the first player in Test cricket to score 50+ runs in each of his first eight matches.

This remarkable achievement sets a new world record, highlighting Mendis’ consistent batting prowess since his Test debut.  Last year, Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel became the first player in Test history to score 50+ runs in each of his first seven matches, a record that Mendis equalled in the previous Test.
